30 Notable IT Executive Moves: October 2023
Dataprise, Atos, Techmedics, AMD, HPE, Salesforce and EPAM were among the tech companies making key executive hires during October 2023.
New CEOs at Dataprise and Atos. A new chief revenue officer of Techmedics. And a new chief compliance officer at Advanced Micro Devices.
William Flannery, formerly of Ensono; Yves Bernaert, formerly of Accenture; David DeCamillis, formerly of Applied Tech; and Tiffany Scurry, formerly of Western Digital are just some of the executives hired last month.

October Tech Exec Moves
Salesforce, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and EPAM Systems were among the other tech giants to make executive hires during the month as companies invest in resources for sales, technology and partners.
Those executives were:

All the hiring comes despite multiple tech giants cutting their employee rosters amid growing inflation, the possibility of a recession in the near future and tightening IT budgets after high demand for technology during the height of the pandemic.

Charles-Henry Duroyon
In October, Mitel hired Charles-Henry Duroyon in October as its chief operating officer, head of mergers and acquisitions and executive vice president.
He “will oversee Mitel’s global business operations, supply chain, and data privacy office as well as lead the company’s strategic planning and M&A initiatives,” according to a company statement.
Duroyon joined the Kanata, Ontario-based telecommunications vendor after more than 11 years on and off with Atos and Unify, according to his LinkedIn account. Mitel concluded its purchase of Unify in September. Atos bought Unify in 2016.
Duroyon left Atos with the title of senior vice president of corporate development and transformation, according to his LinkedIn account.
Mitel has about 5,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Tabrez Ahmed
EPAM Systems hired Tabrez Ahmed last month as vice president of the insurance business unit, according to his LinkedIn account.
Ahmed came to the Newtown, Pa.-based company – No. 21 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than two years with Apexon, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Apexon with the title of senior vice president and global head of financial services and insurance.
His resume includes more than 15 years with Syntel and Atos. Atos bought Syntel in 2018. He left Atos in 2021 with the title of head of financial services for North America.
Vineet Deshpande
In October, Vineet Deshpande joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise as chief marketing officer of HPE Compute, according to his LinkedIn account.
In this role, Deshpande leads marketing for the $12 billion business and is tasked with “making it a profitable engine via innovative demand generation strategies, creative storytelling, and a strong focus on programmatic execution.”
He came to the Houston-based tech giant after about a year with Tiger Analytics, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company with the title of executive sales consultant.
His resume includes more than 16 years on and off with Dell Technologies, according to his LinkedIn account. He most recently left Dell in 2022 with the title of vice president of product marketing, working in Dell’s storage business.
HPE has about 80,000 channel partners worldwide, about 10,000 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Yves Bernaert
Yves Bernaert became CEO of Atos last month.
Bernaert joined the France-based company – No. 25 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than 30 years with Accenture, according to his LinkedIn account.
He left Accenture with the title of CEO of Accenture Technology in Europe.
Larry Meador
Infima brought Larry Meador on last month as its first-ever channel chief.
Meador joined the Orlando-based security awareness training platform after about two years with DataStream Cyber Insurance, according to his LinkedIn account.
He previously worked at Greenlink Networks for about a year as channel manager, leaving in 2021. His resume includes more than 11 years with CNET Content Solutions and 1WorldSync, according to his LinkedIn account. 1WorldSync bought CNET Content Solutions in 2020. He left 1WorldSync in 2021.
William Flannery
William Flannery became CEO of Dataprise in October, according to a company statement.
In this role, Flannery is tasked with “nurturing client relationships, fostering professional development among associates, and navigating the ever-evolving technology landscape, with a strong commitment to operational excellence and client satisfaction,” according to the statement.
Flannery came to the Rockville, Md.-based company – No. 264 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after about eight years with Ensono, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Ensono with the title of executive vice president, chief operating officer and general manager.
David DeCamillis
David DeCamillis became chief revenue officer of Techmedics in October, according to his LinkedIn account.
DeCamillis joined the Pasadena, Calif.-based MSP after more than 15 years with Applied Tech and Platte River Networks, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Applied with the title of senior vice president of sales and marketing. Applied and Platte River merged last year.
Applied Tech is a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500.
Heather Ruden
Heather Ruden joined Salesforce in October as executive vice president of global field marketing, according to her LinkedIn account.
In this role, she leads “the strategy and execution of demand generation programs and field marketing initiatives.”
Ruden came to the San Francisco-based customer relationship management (CRM) vendor after nine years on and off with Amazon Web Services, according to her LinkedIn account. She left AWS with the title of general manager of education programs.
Her resume includes less than a year with Oracle as group vice president of field and digital marketing for cloud and technology platforms.
Salesforce has more than 11,000 partners worldwide, according to the vendor.
Tiffany Scurry
Tiffany Scurry joined Advanced Micro Devices in October as corporate vice president and chief compliance officer, according to her LinkedIn account.
She came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker after more than 13 years with Western Digital, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Western Digital with the title of senior vice president and chief compliance officer.
AMD has about 125 North America partners, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs Details.
James Chambers
James Chambers became vice president of silicon engineering and sourcing at Nvidia in October, according to his LinkedIn account.
In this role, he will lead “teams in Foundry Engineering and Si Failure Analysis.”
Chambers came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker after more than 13 years at AMD. He left AMD with the title of senior director of client product management.
Nvidia has about 1,600 channel partners worldwide and about 500 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Roberto Mari
Roberto Mari returned to Cisco last month, giving him the title of vice president of solution-led account-based marketing (ABM), according to his LinkedIn account.
In this role, he leads “a specialized and highly technical Marketing Team focused on integrating solution-based experiences into the core of Cisco Security’s overall marketing strategy,” according to his LinkedIn account.
Mari previously worked at the San Jose, Calif.-based networking giant for more than 10 years, leaving in 2011 with the title of manager of product management and technical marketing, working on the NX-OS and the Cisco data center portfolio of platforms.
His resume includes more than seven years on and off with VMware. He most recently left with the title of senior director of networking and security technologist. He also worked at Intel for about three years, leaving in 2019 as a senior director of product management.
Chris Smith
Chris Smith became senior vice president of cloud security data management at Palo Alto Networks last month, according to his LinkedIn account.
Smith came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based security vendor after about two years as chief revenue officer of Aqua Security, according to his LinkedIn account.
His resume includes more than two years as CRO of Onapsis.
Palo Alto Networks has about 10,000 worldwide channel partners and 1,200 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Paris Georgallis
Sumo Logic brought on Paris Georgallis last month as its chief customer officer, according to his LinkedIn account.
Georgallis joined the Redwood City, Calif.-based continuous intelligence (CI) platform provider after more than three years with Sysdig, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Sysdig with the title of vice president of global customer engineering and chief customer success leader.
His resume includes more than two years with Databricks. He left the vendor in 2020 with the title of vice president of global services and education.
Sumo Logic has about 200 channel partners worldwide and 120 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Claudionor Coelho Jr.
Last month, Zscaler hired Claudionor Coelho Jr. as chief artificial intelligence (AI) officer, according to his LinkedIn account.
Coelho joined the San Jose, Calif.-based security vendor after about a year with Advantest, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Advantest with the title of chief AI officer and senior vice president of engineering.
His resume includes about two years with Palo Alto Networks. He left the company in 2022 with the title of vice president, AI fellow and head of AI labs.
Zscaler has about 2,000 worldwide channel partners and about 900 in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Andrew Brown
Andrew Brown was promoted to senior vice president and chief revenue officer of Red Hat last month, according to his LinkedIn account.
In this role, he is “responsible for every process that generates revenue in Red Hat, connecting different revenue-related functions, from marketing to sales, customer success, pricing, and revenue operations.”
He took on the new role at the Raleigh, N.C.-based open source tools vendor after about 30 years with Red Hat parent company IBM.
His most recent title at IBM was general manager of technology sales in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
About 80 percent of Red Hat sales come through the channel, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
IBM has about 55,000 worldwide channel partners, 12,000 of them in North America, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Courtney Graham
In October, Courtney Graham joined Databricks as vice president of sales, leading the “High Technology vertical for Digital Natives across the” United States, according to her LinkedIn account.
Graham came to the San Francisco-based data and AI tools vendor after about four years with SADA, according to her LinkedIn account. She left SADA with the title of vice president of sales for the Central region.
Her resume includes about four years with Google. She left in 2020 with the title of key account field sales representative.
Databricks has about 1,000 channel partners worldwide, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Patrick Sullivan
Splunk hired Patrick Sullivan in October, giving him the title of vice president of real estate and workplace, according to his LinkedIn account.
Sullivan came to the San Francisco-based cybersecurity and observability tools vendor after more than nine years with Proofpoint, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Proofpoint with the title of vice president of real estate and workplace services.
Splunk has about 2,400 worldwide channel partners, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Zach Deming
Zach Deming became vice president of corporate and product marketing last month at Rubrik, according to his LinkedIn account.
Deming joined the Palo Alto, Calif.-based data security vendor after more than eight years with BlackLine, according to his LinkedIn account. He left BlackLine with the title of senior vice president of marketing.
His resume includes more than a year with imAthlete. He left the company in 2015 with a role in product management in marketing.
Bobby Hollis
Microsoft hired Bobby Hollis last month as vice president of energy, according to his LinkedIn account.
Hollis joined the Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant after about a year with Rowan Digital Infrastructure, according to his LinkedIn account. He left Rowan with the title of chief commercial officer.
His resume includes about a year with Breakthrough Energy, leaving in 2022 with the title of senior director of development. Hollis worked at Facebook for about six years, leaving in 2021 with the title of head of global energy, environment and site selection.
Microsoft has about 400,000 worldwide channel partners, according to CRN’s 2023 Channel Chiefs.
Mike Bank
Mike Bank became vice president of sales for managed services at Trace3 last month, according to his LinkedIn account.
Part of his role will include helping Trace3 “expand its managed services portfolio, augment its existing talent with highly experienced managed services delivery resources, and optimize its end-to-end service approach with clients,” according to a company statement.
Bank came to the Irvine, Calif.-based company – No. 36 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after about nine years with Synoptek, according to his LinkedIn account. He left the company with the title of vice president of sales and strategic alliances.
Manav Bhasin
In October, Manav Bhasin became vice president of enterprise applications and transformation at Presidio, according to his LinkedIn account.
Bhasin came to the New York-based company – No. 23 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than eight years with SVAM International, according to his LinkedIn account.
He left SVAM with the title of managing director. His resume includes more than five years with Avaya. He left Avaya in 2015 with the title of senior IT director for analytics and integration services.
Tony Mathews
GlideFast Consulting hired Tony Mathews last month as vice president of the state and local government practice, according to his LinkedIn account.
Mathews joined the Waltham, Mass.-based ServiceNow consultancy after about two years with EY, according to his LinkedIn account. He left EY with the title of senior manager of government and public sector consulting.
His resume includes about four years as a deputy commissioner and chief operating officer at the Tennessee Department of Human Services.
Chris Fabes
Chris Fabes joined SHI in October, taking on the role of general manager and vice president of sales for Canada, according to his LinkedIn account.
Fabes came to the Somerset, N.J.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – after about 15 years with Lenovo.
He left Lenovo with the title of director of worldwide sales and strategy for MSP, cloud service providers (CSPs) and global partners, according to his LinkedIn account.
Paul Normark
In October, Paul Normark joined BlueAlly as vice president of sales for the South region, according to his LinkedIn account.
Normark came to the Cary, N.C.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – after more than 18 years with Dell Technologies and EMC, according to his LinkedIn account.
He left Dell with the title of director of Unstructured Data Solutions (UDS) global sales for global alliances, original equipment makers (OEMs) and cloud partnerships. Dell bought EMC in 2016.
Glenn Mathis
Glenn Mathis became chief operating officer of Integris last month, according to his LinkedIn account.
In this role, Mathis works with the executive team and board “to create and deliver on our ‘WHY’, execute our M&A strategy, develop strong partnerships with our technology partners, listen and respond to the ‘Voice of the Customer’, and evangelizing the tent poles of our industry as a thought leader and DX promoter,” according to his LinkedIn account.
He came to the Cranbury Township, N.J.-based company – No. 216 on CRN’s 2023 Solution Provider 500 – after more than 22 years with Konica Minolta Business Solutions and All Covered.
He left Konica Minolta with the title of senior vice president and general manager of managed IT services for North America, according to his LinkedIn account. Konica Minolta bought All Covered in 2011.
Rajiv Sodhi
Persistent Systems hired Rajiv Sodhi in October, giving him the role of senior vice president, according to his LinkedIn account.
In this role, he is “focused on helping our enterprise customers across the world, transform by leveraging recent advances in Generative AI, Low Code/NoCode, Cyber Security technologies, in partnership with Microsoft, Google, AWS, Salesforce and other leaders across the technology industry,” according to his LinkedIn account.
Sodhi joined the company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 with locations including India, California, New Jersey and North Carolina – after more than 16 years on and off with Microsoft. He most recently left Microsoft with the title of general manager of global go-to-market strategy and operations.
Nancy Sperry
Nancy Sperry joined Aktion Associates in October, according to a company statement.
She will “work closely with current CRE (Construction & Real Estate) Division Vice President Steve Handly for a transitional phase before officially taking on the role of Vice President of the CRE Division on” Jan. 1, according to the statement.
Sperry came to the Maumee, Ohio-based company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – after about a year with Allego, according to her LinkedIn account. She left Allego with the title of ecosystem vice president.
Her resume includes about nine years with Sage Intacct, according to her LinkedIn account. She left in 2022 with the title of vice president of Eastern region channel sales.
Doug Pickle
Doug Pickle joined Global Data Systems in October, taking on the role of vice president of sales and marketing, according to a company statement.
In this role, he “will spearhead GDS’s sales and marketing efforts, leveraging his extensive experience and proven track record in driving business growth” and “play a pivotal role in advancing GDS’s market presence and strengthening its customer relationships,” according to the statement.
Pickle came to the Lafayette, La.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – after about 20 years with Optimum Business, according to his LinkedIn account.
He left Optimum with the title of senior director of national sales for enterprise, wholesale and partner channels at Altice USA, according to his LinkedIn account.
Alexander Guasch
Last month, Effectual hired Alexander Guasch as senior vice president of professional services, according to his LinkedIn account.
Guasch joined the Jersey City, N.J.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – after about a year with VMware, according to his LinkedIn account. He left VMware with the title of senior director of the Americas.
His resume includes about a year with Optiv. He left in 2021 with the title of global vice president of services operations.
Nic Sutton
Genpact hired Nic Sutton last month as vice president and global relationship manager, according to his LinkedIn account.
Sutton came to the New York-based global systems integrator after more than four years with NTT, according to his LinkedIn account. He left NTT with the title of senior client partner of the cloud services division.
His resume includes about a year with TriStar and about a year with Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He left TriStar in 2018 with the title of enterprise account manager for discrete manufacturing. He left HPE in 2017 with the title of solutions adviser for enterprise services.
